Four individuals in Illinois were recently injured in a motor vehicle collision. Two of the parties who were injured in the single-car crash are children. Sometimes, these types of car accidents occur due to the carelessness of a motorist, which is grounds for litigation.

The recent Illinois accident took place at around 8:10 p.m. According to authorities, a man, 38, was driving west along a street. Police said he then swerved all of a sudden to avoid striking another car.

At that point, the man reportedly hit a tree. Both he and his female passenger, 31, suffered injuries and were transported to the hospital. Their conditions were reported to be fair at that time. In addition, a 5-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl suffered injuries and were taken to a medical center, where their conditions were also considered to be fair. Police continued to investigate the automobile collision.

The passenger in the car that was involved in the recent accident may opt to file a personal injury claim against the driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained in the collision. Likewise, personal injury claims may be filed on behalf of the two other injury victims. Liability must be established, based upon a showing of negligence — such as driving too quickly for road conditions — before the civil court hearing the case will adjudicate claims for financial damages. A successfully fought personal injury claim might lead to monetary damages to cover medical bills, lost wages and other losses stemming from these types of car accidents in Illinois.
